UCF Employee and Alumnus Co-Leads NACUBO 2023 Tax Forum

Joel Levenson, UCF’s assistance vice president for tax, payables, and procurement and current chair of the National Association of Colleges and University Business Officers (NACUBO) Tax Council had the honor to co-lead and present during the 2023 Tax Forum from October 15-17, 2023. This important forum welcomed close to 180 intermediate to advanced-level campus tax professionals from across the nation to learn about the latest on issues and best practices in higher education tax compliance and administration.

“The forum touched on a number of compliance issues institutions are facing and provided great feedback on how to tackle them. I only had to sign 5 autographs!”

Joel became a member of the IRS Information Reporting Program Advisory Committee in 2016 and last served as co-chair of the Internal Revenue Service Advisory Committee in 2019. He is currently an active member of the Inter-Institutional Committee on Finance and Accounting Officers (ICOFA). In addition to serving as chair of NACUBO’s Tax Council, Joel has been proudly involved with NACUBO’s advocacy efforts involving Forms 1098-T and commenting on proposed legislation. He was a recipient of the 2015 NACUBO Tax Award.

Joel has been a UCF employee since 2008, and is also a proud alumnus having earned both a bachelor and master’s degree in Taxation.
